a class in miracles.

I've noticed that ET often quotes from acim. Does this mean that
The two teachings go well together? Does any one know if ET
Actually completed the course and wether or not he recomends it ?
I have just started the course and am on lesson 25. Also I would exist interested to hear from people
Who have sucesfully combined the two teachings and from those who have not? --sharonx

I never felt any resonance with ACIM - it seemed overly complicated, too long, and too formulaic to me. Information technology likewise has a decided slant to it that may be off-putting to non-Christians or the not-religious. From what I've seen, fundamentalist Christians do not look kindly upon information technology. What's important, however, is how you relate to it. I take no idea if ET went through the unabridged affair, but he does seem to have a high opinion of information technology. I actually prefer someone talk/write about it, like Marianne Williamson.

The important thing I feel, is that i learns to trust their ain guide and understanding. If A Course In Miracles resonates with you at this time then trust that. Allow yourself be fatigued to that which you honey. Stay fluid and don't anchor downward in any detail point of view, all teachings every bit beautiful and equally intricate as they may be are only pointers to the same reality. Each approach may give a glimpse of a unlike facet of the aforementioned reality, which is your true nature. But your trajectory is unique and only you know within what is going to exist helpful or click, and when it is all-time to shift directions. At some point nosotros leave backside all teachings and concepts, because they are like the finger pointing at the moon, not the moon itself. However nosotros are always gratuitous to pick them up once again when nosotros feel the interest to practice so.

There's another ACIM topic already started on this forum that y'all may want to cheque out: http://eckhart-tolle-forum.inner-growth ... =27&t=1855

I've likewise heard that there are ACIM discussion groups or forums on the spider web

I agree with the James on this. More than important than whatsoever given teaching or teacher is one's direct alignment with source. To the degree that whatsoever educational activity helps in that alignment (and bodily experience is the only guide), then information technology has value specific to your present condition. Do you experience an excitement and a sense of enrichment in the quite of thought free presence when considering a teaching? Permit this sense or attraction point the way. In that location is a sense of "yes, this teaching is central, information technology simply feels correct, and every time I touch it I gain clarity".

But know it'south not sectional of other teachings for other people or even for yourself at other times. You are the last word on the steps you have. Just life is a cocky correcting organization should you stride out of alignment. Hurting and suffering are fix reminders for a perspective out of sinc with Essence. There is no judgment here (except that of the fearful ego), merely merely a loving patience ever present and ready to guide u.s. through love, peace and joy. Over time there is an development toward not only alignment with Essence, just becoming it. That is afterward all where we began.

The ACIM has an excellent treatise on the ego. It also shows how Truth can be mushed up with time and egos. For example, "God will not exist mocked" is not a alert, but simply the truth that consciousness is non capable of judgment.

The ACIM is rather rigid, lengthy, complicated and might give the false impression that the journey to Truth requires one to exist disciplined and pious.

I've read it but never felt the inclination to report it.

All I know is when I started reading ACIM, I opened up to nonduality. And so much of ACIM didn't brand sense to me only I worked the lessons and my understanding grew by leaps and bounds. I will be forever grateful for finding The Course because now I am reading such wonderful teachings by Adya, Tolle, Candace O'Denver, Scott Kiloby, and Nisargadatta Maharaj.

There'southward a few beautifully poetic gems of wisdom in ACIM, simply it certainly isn't something to read to be pointed straight to reality. Information technology's more of a gradual process with ACIM, sort of by grace alone. Of course the linguistic communication can be difficult to read, and the christian slant on nonduality may be off putting to some, simply I reckon it'south a groovy bit of writing. The book is also massive then information technology's adept to just pull out every now and once more if you want to read something inspirational.

Hello

I was fortunate enough to attend classes in ACIM given by Eckhart in London in the mid 80s. He used ACIM before he discovered Krishnamurthi and developed his own way of didactics,

Well I hope within the last five years you have realized this (lol) but I think your question is misguided. It is non a matter of TWO teachings going together. There are thousands of teachings on this Earth, gathered from all over at all times. Whether it is Eckhart Tolle, ACIM, Jesus, Buddha, LaoTzu, Krishnamurti, OSHO, Raman Maharashi, Rumi, Emerson.......yous get the point. They are all teaching the states ONE UNIVERSAL TRUTH. It is really a matter of which pedagogy resonates with you.
1 person said ACIM is "too complicated" - I detect that the audiobook read by Jim Stewart is the most straightforward way to ingest the work. He does a magnificent chore IMO, and once you get into a period and listen fully nowadays, the truth is in that location in patently english. That person also felt put off by the "camber"towards Christianity. That was probably impeding her receptivity. The book does clearly state that although some terminology is similiar it is universal. If annihilation, a Christian may feel uneasy about it because it basically corrects the widespread misconceptions about Christ.
Again, IMO, when I consider the way in which this book came about coupled with the truth it contains, I tin can't help simply soak upward every unmarried discussion.
ET says it is one of the merely modern books that he quotes.

Basically, it is ALL a means to i end. There are no separate teachings which go together. The teachings themselves exercise not belong to those who are delivering them. As they volition all chop-chop tell you, they are simply channeling 1 bulletin.
